How exactly was the beginning of Cholera?

The band began in October 1979 after I had installed 4 bands of rock. Helinho graduated with the band on guitar, Pierre (my brother) on drums and me on bass and vocal, this training lasted for out/79 the abril/80 when I began to play guitar and continued the voice, and entered in the Val low.

Structure was necessary for a band then?

Almost no ... practice had to do it yourself, and we have boxes of old sound with wood construction, the second hand auto speakers, amplifiers and had home-made fellow, had not
resources in the area of music. The little they had was very expensive and most of low quality.

And to learn to play? It was in the same race? Or had teachers?

Racial or teachers, or producers or people who say anything about mounting and maintaining a band.

And the financial question? You worked with anything? How was the maintenance of instruments?

always had to work because we had to live for music ... and even today, spend a lot to keep the band running. Maintenance of the instruments was made by ourselves, nor was such thing as luthier and tals .. had to buy the accessories / parts and turn around to repair, exchange.

When the idea of launching an album of the band?

When Fabião (voice of Dry Eye and owner of the store / label: Punkrock Discs) suggested to make a disc with 3-band active at the time. The Cry Suburban had their recordings performed in the second half of 1981 and was launched in March 1982. It was my first "production technique" of a disc. Then did the SUB, not only the technical part, as all the production and release, which was in 1983.

I never said that and not like this way of comparison. We believe better than anyone. This kind of stupidity in the press causing intrigue between bands. Do not play this game. Delete! I think that is a misunderstanding, but a typical action of those living under the stigma of self-assertion, you need to show and think, because the Cólera grown, that we have this same disease. We need not prove anything, we continue our history.

The punk is dead? What is happening with the new generation of motion? If too divided? There is some reason for such violence? As in the case of a short time ago in Sao Paulo?

Punk is not ganguismo and not fold or do violence. I do not know if this is something of a new generation, I would say that is something of a violent city. Something people bewildered. Do not roll a "division", rolls even hundreds and thousands of bands, activism, and intense practice of the spectacular "DIY", but that not everything comes out in the press, it has nothing to do in violent shows, zines, things builders who do not sell in the shop windows of large communications networks. Influences of the band?

Influences at the beginning: The Clash, Stiff Little Fingers, UKSubs.
Current influences: Mestre Ambrósio, New Model Army and music in general, but today we have an own identity and sounds well, Cholera Cholera is!
