REVIEW OF THE LAUNCH OF THE OUT OF THE SHAFT IN EXTREME UBERLÂNDIA
By Marco Henriques (Uganga / Empty Pages Zine)
In last weekend rolled in some cities the release of Off-Axis By Far, a new arm of the Circuit Off-Axis, more focused on Hardcore, Metal, Punk and other aspects of heavy music. Rolled shows on 12, 13 and 14 in some country towns like Annapolis, Cuiabá, Brasília, Macapá, Patos de Minas and Uberlândia, and is the last event in this city that I review here.
Uberlândia already has great merit in the circuit off-axis and in the national independent music in general, with high quality bands in various styles and once again has shown that public and have people involved, willingly and roll up their sleeves pra see things happen.
The event was scheduled for the 17h Sunday, just a little delayed because of rain but by 6 am to Goma, where the event was held, was already getting some people looking for good music.
Who opened the night were the Uberlandense of ONE STEP FORWARD, new band that was doing one of his early shows did not disappoint and the present. Led by drummer jam, old-known scenario of Uberlândia HC, the band had some proper sounds and influenced by bands like Comeback Kid, Sick Of It All, Paint It Black and others. What caught my attention on the guys sound like they knew was married and a fast instrumental, with guitars referring to Hardcore melodic vocals and a more nervous. Even with little time band, he'd notice that the guys are on track. Oh, and back to close the show sent a Sick Of It All pra joy of the present.
Following came the JOHN IN ARMS, the band formed in Uberaba - MG but it is currently located in Brasília. The sound of the guys is a Rock 'N Roll / Punk humorous, with lyrics talking about beer, women, fast cars and the like. They had been through Uberlândia few years ago and for those who were present at the two presentations was apparent maturation and evolution of the band, with a sound well done, well done and that made the guys did not lose their edge and continue moving on " dance floor. " For those who like bands like the Ramones, The Cramps, Misfits and Motorhead, here's a good tip, listen to the sound of this band..
Continuing the night, the third attraction on stage was the UGANGA band, whose drummer writes this to you. We released our third CD earlier this year, "Vol.3: Chaos Carma Concept" released by Fire Records labels, Goma Discos, Freemind Records and Metal Soldiers (Portugal). It was our second show in Uberlândia after the launch of this new work and was again fuck. The DJ Vouglas, who is accompanying the band on this new tour and can not comparison in the last two shows were present and everything went as planned. It is our thanks to and for those who were there in front, hit his head, sang songs and made this night more than a positive moment in the trajectory of UGANGA. Oh, please note that our new CD is available for download at the Compacto.REC (compactorec.foradoeixo.org.br). Low there!
And it is in the air a video UGANGA playing the songs 'Arid Zone' and '3 XC "in that event. Check:
The fourth band to play were the Chileans FORSAKEN. The band is new, has a year of activity and has members in common with the NOUVELLE GAIA, the band that closed the night. Returning to the Forsaken, the guys took the stage and mosh pit has started to boil, with the right to call "violent dancing, confetti and streamers. That's right, confers and coil, I was like carnival. Pure joy! Folias part, the sound of Forsaken very pleased all present. With great energy and speed the guys dumped a Hardcore very well done showing that despite being active for only one year, and the guys are among them. Although NOUVELLE GAIA be the "main attraction", I found the FORSAKEN much fuck.
Besides the shows also rolled a few stools selling / distributing material as independent CDs, fanzines, t-shirts, flyers ... which further enriched the ballad. Another cool thing that was rolled over to cover the event held by the collective IMU (Integrated Media Uberlandense) who not only broadcast the live event, also interviewed all the bands and kept the coverage in real time through tools like Twitter, Flickr and Blogging . Fuck!
Continuing with the music, to close the night took the stage of the Chilean also NOUVELLE GAIA. And it gives you more mosh pit, dancing ... and violent coil! The sound of the guys is a little more aggressive than the Forsaken, with a voice yelled over, break-downs, taken a double-pedal and speed. Unlike the Forsaken, the NOUVELLE GAIA is celebrating its nearly 10 years on the road, having released 2 cds. It was not the first time they went to Brazil and again showed why they are among the leading bands of HC Chile.
And so came to an end the event. He rolled that fraternization of the bands, some pictures, exchange of contacts and a sense of accomplishment. One time for all of those present, all the bands that played, the people who were in the stools, MIU, Avner, Dja and family GOMA, Off-Axis In Extremo that showed barely started and already set tongues wagging and all who helped pra that the event happened.
Long live the FDE By Far! Long live free speech! Long live the music made from the heart!
