MAKING A CD - PT 2

Save everyone! I'm here back to continue talking about our run to produce / record and release the third CD of Uganga (Vol.3: Chaos Concept Karma "2009), which has just come out. In the first part have focused the pre-production, assembly of songs, definition studio, producer etc. ... With these steps completed we had in hand all necessary costs pra project completion. As we are an independent band (even with support, this time of 4 stamps in the distribution / promotion) decided to take on a project for the collection of municipal funds, and after much ralação to let everything "in line", can afford the costs the new album the way we wanted. While Marco was already working on sketches for the cover and we talked a lot at this stage about the concept of literature, art etc ... I was responsible for 90% of the letters and had been doing since the beginning, and it came with the images ... I think again the partnership worked because both I and he were more open to contributions this time.

We enrolled our project by the municipal law to encourage the culture of the city Araguari City (where 4 of the 5 band members were born), obey all that was asked, perfecting their material and we did. It's nice to have someone of the band involved in this process and in our case the Ras (below) was the one who got that part, but being helped by all. Talking to those who have done projects like this before is also very valid and we had support from friends like Sapão, William and Ale (disc valve) in this part. If our project were not approved would have spent half the budget to pay for (the band) all production. I think even then the result would be legal, but with conditions nece $ $ arias could do everything with the calm and ideal care, and that I think made the difference. In short, the money is there, it is federal, state or municipal. The thing is to keep an eye on notice ... Rimou! (laughs)

Recordings rolled very quietly for 12 days of January 2009. The routine was the basic "studio-house" with all lunches on the street. Taguatinga now was not so new (the band released their second album "The Trail Man From Well" in 2006, in the same place), we were more "at home". Orbis despite being a commercial area and is close to the piston North, which has a green area with nice track to ride, bars etc ... I enjoyed this very place to relax and sweat a little ... No distractions, the focus was only with that studio and each recording their parts very quickly.
We always work within a disciplined schedule of times when we are writing because i just left time for some experiments, guests, finally ... There's no such sweethearts, friends, party in the studio ... and tramp! In Jamaican style, but trampo (laughs)! And i left it for last time for something more relaxing and gone astray. This time we received a visit at Orbis two comrades who participated in the cd: X (Black Money) and Zacca (Your Juvenal).

The Zacca came on a weekend ... He traveled for 13 hours, arrived, he recorded his part almost material (a third guitar in the band "Millennial" where it is co-author) and the rest was party. The "X" made a party at the time of writing (laughs). After a long chat about the Negro and exchange high hinds the guy went to a corner, he wrote the letter at the time and had scolded! An honor for sure for all of us of Uganga!

The other guests, Jhasko (ex Sarcophagus), Guilherme (Krow) Sapão (Attero) and Leospa (ex Uganga) recorded their parts in Unimusic in Uberlândia (valew guys!), And the Paçoca the table and Marco (drums the Uganga) coordinating bagaça. He had already finished their shares in Taguatinga and come home soon, and that helped speed the process. In fact while the guys were recording in Udi people started talking via skype ... This is the good side of technology and must be used. These sessions we even throw a more unusual was that this cd record violins (Jhasko) to a sound "First Tenant. But we are not willing to do something more complex type My Dying Bride, was only one trip that Jhasko did, pretty cool by the way, which came in a sampler-like sound ... We brought the classical influence our goals, pro sound and married very well. .. Soon you can check and draw your own conclusions.

Finishing the shares had the master Johnny Murata (the trio of jazz fusion Lumina) detonating an intro fodassa of sitar. The guy recorded everything in his house in São Paulo and had everything ready. We were all open mouth and ended up being the opening track on the cd!! Valew Master Johnny, OM SHANTI !!!!!!!
In 12 days we stayed at Orbis Studio, 90% of the CD was ready. I chose to record some vocals 15 days after the end of the recordings to a pra pra throat and drink in this phase were a few more sessions in Taguatinga (Orbis) and Uberlândia (Unimusic)
Now, as Riti (producer) was mixing the album we would have time to organize the rush to launch, close partnerships with seals and until you master the trampo with a guy who recorded absolute classic metal / hardcore. In the third part is talking about it ... Abraço
